The SSMT is offering scholarship/grant monies to ANY group or person (member or non-member) in the Middle Tennessee area who wishes to pursue Scottish interests. Pipers, dancers, genealogists – anyone interested in attending a Scottish specific need (workshop or class) and/or pursuit – can apply.
Guidelines: 1. All financial aid requests shall be for the education, participation in, enhancement of, and/or the furthering of Scottish pursuits. 2. All requests for aid must be submitted in writing at least six weeks, and preferably eight weeks, before the Board of Directors makes any decisions regarding the winners of financial aid. 3. All requests for financial aid should include the following information: name, contact information, group affiliation (if any), amount requested, a brief description of what the monies will be used for, and if other funds are available from other sources (if so, how much). All requests will be forwarded to the Vice President of the SSMT who will review the applications and bring a recommendation to the Board of Directors, who will make the final decision. 6. All applicants will be asked to provide a brief report or give a brief presentation at the SSMT’s Annual General Meeting (or other membership meeting) as to the results of their funds being awarded.
